Working with Parents to Keep Children Safe

Learners are more likely to engage in proper online behavior if internet safety is practiced and reinforced at home. It is important that teachers work with parents to keep students safe. The start of a successful parent and teacher collaboration begins with an Acceptable Use Policy (AUP). This document must be signed by the parent and student. Parents want to know what measures the teacher and administration have in place to keep their children safe when using digital tools. The AUP includes important information for parents, such as which digital tools will be used, lists consequences for improper behavior.
